Ilias Mantikos

Ilias Mantikos is a kanun player and composer from Rhodes, Greece (b. 1989). He began the kanun at 12, later studied Byzantine music and graduated from the Department of Folk and Traditional Music in Arta. He has performed in Greece and abroad since 2005, released the instrumental album Smoking Table, and lives in Athens, where he records, performs, and teaches. Ilias has also released the contemporary folk album Tetraktys.
