Yannis Poulios

Yannis Poulios is a traditional violinist. He studied folk violin at the Department of Folk and Traditional Music in Arta, Epirus, then spent a year at Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul. His playing covers regional Greek styles — including Epirus — as well as makam and taksim. He has taught violin since 2018, including at the Experimental Music High School of Pallini, the Music School of Ilion, and Scholeion Psaltikis, and leads seminars on folk violin. He lives and works in Athens.
